Opposition activist faces expulsion from university in Mahilyou

Sophomore Uladzislau Shved, a member of the Young Belarus youth pressure group, is facing eviction from the Mahilyou State University, the law student told the European Radio for Belarus himself.
Uladzislau Shved: "The situation is that I might be expelled on Monday. A deputy dean in charge of ideology has refused to get me passed on ethics for six times".

Since January 10, Uladzislau can't start passing his exams, because he is not cleared because of two unpassed subjects. Deputy dean Uladzimir Kastsenich has set another appointment for Monday, when the third exam of the winter session is to be passed. If Uladzislau misses this exam, he will be automatically expelled.

Uladzislau Shved is known as a good student, with the lowest mark of 8 over the past two exam sessions.

He links this pressure with his participation with the Young Belarus opposition group which has become a very active organization in the city.
