One more Polish spy from Belarus stands trial in Moscow

The trial of a major of Russian air forces Sergei Yuren suspected of working for Polish special services has started in Moscow today. He is accused of providing the Polish intelligence with secret information about the disposition of Moscow District military forces. The major was a member of an espionage network that worked in Russia and Belarus.

The group was discovered in January 2007 after Yureyna confessed to the Federal Security Service. He pled guilty during the preliminary investigation.

His Belarusian accomplices Uladzіmіr Ruskіn, Vіktar Bogdan, Syargei Karnіlyuk and Pavel Pyatkevіch were returned guilty of espionage by the Supreme Court of Belarus on September 14. They were sentenced to 7-10 years of imprisonment.
