Oldest Belarusian cinema is restored in Hrodna

The oldest Belarusian cinema – “Red Star” – will open after a 5-years break in Hrodna. The event has been put off several times. Builders say that is was connected with some architectural difficulties.

The cinema was built in 1914 and it was called “Eden”. It survived World War II under the name. However, the name was changed to “Red Star” after the war. Inhabitants of Hrodna know the cinema because of a famous intellectual cinema club “Angle Shot”.
