Officials demand money for Belarusian programme

Baranavichy inhabitants are trying to make the local official allow a Belarusian programme “I love our country” to be broadcasted in the local radio.
It existed for 10 years. You could listen to Belarusian verses and songs during the programme. Then somebody decided that it was unnecessary. Local literary men have asked the authorities many times about this issue but they have not received any positive reply yet.

However, they were suggested broadcasting the programme on commercial terms paying 20 thousand roubles for every minute of recording and broadcasting. A 20-minute programme would cost 800 thousand roubles. At the same time, “Brotherhood of veterans” is regularly broadcasted in Russian and is sponsored by the state.
