Official unemployment rate in Belarus is 1%
The unemployment rate registered in Belarus on August 1, 2007 is 1% of the productive population. This number totalled 1.4% on August 1, 2006, - reports “BelTA”. There were almost 46.7 thousand unemployed registered on August 1 while the data bank contained 55.7 vacancies.
“BelTA” simply ignores the real unemployment rate which is usually twice as bigger as the registered number of the unemployed.
