No plans to amend Belarus electoral laws: Yarmoshyna
There are no plans to introduce any amendments to the electoral laws ahead of the parliamentary elections, Belarus's Central Elections Commission chairwoman Lidziya Yarmoshyna said in an interview with the official news agency BELTA.
The candidates will be nominated in a usual manner: by working collectives, by a political party or through gathering 1000 signatures, she said
Yarmoshyna reminded that the elections to the House of Representatives could take place on September 28, 2008.
This date has preliminary been approved by Alexander Lukashenka. He is expected to sign a formal decree setting the date of the vote not later than June 28, Yarmoshyna said.
