No more police during football matches?

They discussed security issues during football matches. A work group will be created to monitor the situation at stadiums. The group will work on the strategy of cooperation between the Football Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs during matches.

One of the aims will be removing policemen from stadiums and replacing them with stewards, the press service of the Belarusian Football Federation reports.

A few conflicts between football fans and the police have been registered this year in Belarus (policemen tried to note down people’s passport information) – fans boycotted matches of the country’s championship.
