No analog TV in Belarus after May 15, 2015

Analog television in Belarus will be completely disabled by May 15, 2015. It was announced by the head of the Telecommunicationdepartment at the Ministry of Communications and Informatization Paval Petrulevich.

"By May 2015, all analog TV transmitters will be tdisabled at all the transmitting stations of the country. On May 15 broadcast of the analog signal will be terminated at the main transmitting station of the country in Kalodishchy," BELTA quoted Petrulevich.

25 stations with analog signal have already been decommissioned. 17 more are planned  to be dismantled. This year planned work will not be undertaken. And in January of the following year digital broadcast will appear in Kopyl, Myadzel and Smargon. It is possible to receive digital TV on any, even the old TV by connecting the digital set-top box. Modern television sets are ready for the transition to digital, addz channel Belarus 1.

Today in Belarus digital signal coverage area is 97.81%.
