A Belarusian train on the Minsk-Warsaw route will operate for the first time since 2015. At the moment, the only connection has been via the Russian Railways train No 9/10. But effective from 10 December 2017, Belarusian Railways will offer a direct service from Minsk, Euroradio has learned.

Belarus and Polish Railways have come up with a creative solution that will help passengers pay less and spend less time on the journey. The route will be serviced by... two trains actually: Minsk-Brest and Brest-Warsaw. Tickets will be sold separately for each of the trains.

Tickets from Minsk to Warsaw will cost 18 euros or 5 times less than for the Moscow train.

When reaching Brest, passengers will have to leave the train and pass passport and customs controls before embarking on the Warsaw-bound Polish train. According to Belarus Railways officials, one hour should be enough to change the trains in Brest.

The train will depart Minsk at 1057 arriving Warsaw at 1729. On the return leg, train will depart Warsaw at 0844 arriving Minsk as 1849, Belarus Railways told Euroradio.
