New car bill passes second reading in parliament
Belarus MPs pass a law that introduces an extra fee for allowing vehicles to participate in traffic, effective from January 1, 2014
The bill on amendments to the Law on taxing and business will impose a state tax on car owners starting from January 1, 2014.
The Ministry of Finance was going to collect 1.6 trillion rubles with the help of the car tax.
The money made on the state car tax will be divided 50/50 between the republican and local budgets and will be spent on road repairs, BELTA reports.
