Nazarbayev proposes customs union between Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia

The Commonwealth of Independent States is facing stagnation, caused by the unresolved problems, Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev said today in St Petersburg at the informal summit meeting of the CIS heads of state. Belarus's Alexander Lukashenka is also taking part.  Nazarbayev proposed his counterparts to create a customs union with the participation of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. "It will become a nucleus of the Eurasian Economic Union," noted the Kazakh president in his speech, according to Fontanka.ru.
