Moscow casino moves to Belarus

The Moscow-based Shangri La is moving to Belarus. The Ministry of Sports and Tourism has confirmed the issue of the first license for the operation of a foreign casino in Minsk.  Russia banned casinos in the capital city of Moscow and other large regional centers from July 1. Minsk is interested in attracting large investors in the gambling sector.

The Interfax news agency reports that the Belarus government plans to build an entertainment and gambling complex near the Minsk International Airport, some 40 km off the Belarus capital of Minsk. Foreign nationals will be able to stay for three days without a visa in the complex, according to the plans.
