More opposition activists raided over Minsk bomb explosion

Police and KGB officer continue raids on the homes of opposition activists as part of the investigation into a bomb explosion during an Independence Day concert in Minsk on July 4, BelaPAN reported.
On July 23, a search was conducted in the Minsk apartment of Alyaksandr Stsepanenka, a member of the United Civic Party.

On the same day, officers searched the Vitsyebsk apartment of Zhanna Papova, director general of the Vitsyebski Kuryer publishing house, seizing PC floppies, disks and memory cards. Papova was taken to the Vitsyebsk regional police department for questioning.

Vyachaslaw Bolbat, an activist of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party “Hramada” in Baranavichy, Brest region, was questioned at a local police station. Also summoned for questioning were Viktar Myazyaka, a member of the Belarusian Popular Front; Viktar Tsyapin, a member of the Belarusian Party of Communists; and human rights activists Syarhey Howsha.
