A monument to people’s writer Vasil Bykau (1924-2003) created by sculptor Alyaksandr Batvinyonak may appear in Minsk soon. He has been creating moments to the most famous war writers together with architect Armen Sardarov for several years. The project is almost ready, Zvyazda reports.
The model shows the classical writer sitting thoughtfully. His hands are placed on a table that looks like a red five-point star. Every facet represents an open book containing quotations from the writer’s books.
The monument will be installed near the Writer’s House in Rumantsau Street. Head of the Union of Belarus’ Writers Mikalai Charhinets is one of the initiators of the project.
