Missing Belarus teenage girl to return home from US

A 17-year-old girl from Belarus who was on vacations in the US and failed to show up at the San Francisco Airport to check in with the rest of the Belarusians, has eventually agreed to return to the home country, Belarus education minister Alexander Radzkou said in a statement. He hopes that the problems will soon be sorted out, reports Interfax.
Radzkou said that the girl had numerously visited the same American family for summer holidays. Media reports suggested yesterday that the family had prevented the girl from leaving the United States.

It has become known that the girl lives together with her grandmother in the city of Barysau. The grandmother reportedly wrote today a statement, demanding to return her granddaughter home.

Meanwhile, the group of Belarusian children which was delayed to depart the US, is soon expected back in Belarus. Will the 17-year-old resident of Barysau join them? It is yet to be known.
