Minsk's budget axed by Br500 billion

The expenditures category in the budget of the Belarusian capital in 2009 has been cut by Br482 billion, according to a resolution passed by Minsk City Council today, reports Belapan news agency.
Expenditures in the social sector will be reduced by Br84 billion; housing and utility services by Br79.8 billion; transport by Br25.5 billion; agriculture by Br206.6 billion and other sectors by Br90.1 billion.

The measure is linked with the shortage of revenues from taxes and levies.

In June 2009, the budget of the capital was axed by Br300 billion.
