Minskers litter less on New Year's Day

The residents of Minsk who came out to the streets to take part in New Year festivities littered much less than during the previous holidays, the local authorities said. Around 200 cubic meters of trash are removed from the Belarusian capital's streets on ordinary days, but on January 1 and 2 this figure grew just at 30-40 percent.

A total of 600 workers were dispatched to clean the streets on those festive days, reports the Minsk-Naviny news agency.
