Minsk public transport fare to increase soon

Minsk public transport fare will increase by 500 rubles - up to 4,500. It will happen within the first ten days of December. Information about the change was provided to BELTA by Iryna Yakubouskaya, Deputy General Director for Economics of the state enterprise Minsktrans.

According to her, the ticket sold by the driver will cost 5,000 rubles, and bus tickets at express routes - 6,000 rubles.

Also, in December new kinds of travel passes will be put in place. A single no-contact card will contain information about bus passes for express routes for month, two weeks, ten days, and will be combined with info on other types of public transport. Passengers will also be available to use no-contact smart cards with a certain number of express trips.

The latest increase in fare prices for public transport happened on 9 August. Then, the ticket price for one trip increased to 4,000 rubles (before that - 3,700).
