Minsk police hunting for Christian literature

Policemen in plain clothes rushed into the office of the steering committee on creation of the “Belarusian Christian Democracy” party in Minsk on July 3. There were two people there at that moment. One of the witnesses Dzyanis Sadouski informed ERB:

“Policemen in plain clothes burst in without having shown any documents. They started taking everything out of the flat. They told me to follow them”.

Sadouski refused to go.  He was beaten and pushed in the car. He was delivered to Frunzenski District Department of the Interior. According to the activist, the policemen confiscated documents, newspapers (among them was “Vesnik” that had already been confiscated at a celebration in Budslau yesterday) and Christian literature in the first place.

“They somehow did not confiscate signatures”, - reported Dzyanis Sadouski to ERB.  He is still in the police office at the moment. Let us remind you that civil activists have been collecting signatures to cancel the discriminating articles of the law on “Freedom of conscience” and in defense of a Minsk Roman-Catholic church of St. Joseph.

When Alyaksey Shein and Syarhey Lukanin arrived in the office of BCD policemen were playing cards on their PC. Activists of the Christian movement were detained and taken to Frunzenski District Department of the Interior. They are giving written explanations of what they were doing in the flat.
