Homeless man arrested over policeman sculpture performance

Мінскі бяздомны трапіў пад арышт з-за скульптуры гарадавога

Homeless person Anton has become a political detainee in Akrestsina Street prison in Minsk. The man has accidentally become a political detainee, Belarusian Partisan reports.

Journalist Alyaksandr Barazenka, streamer Raman Pratasevich and manager of cultural projects Pavel Belavus were his cellmates. They have reported his story.

Anton was a bit tipsy when he was carrying scrap silver along Haradski Val Street on March 3. He had a women’s bag chain in his hand.

Anton approached the notorious sculpture of a Russian Empre city policeman and put the chain on its neck. He unwillingly repeated the performance organized by political prisoner Vyachaslau Kasinerau who had put a loop of the sculpture’s neck. Kasinerau was accused of hooliganism and a criminal case was stared against him.

Homeless Anton is more lucky: he was jailed for three days at first and 10 days of arrest was added to his term later – as it usually happens to political detainees.

This sculpture is ‘a sacred place’ for every policeman, Minsk police chief Major General Alyaksandr Barsukou announced earlier.
