Minister: High energy costs push Belarus to raise housing prices

Apartments are to become more expensive again, while the government is developing a measure "to adjust price index for thermal energy resources", Belarus's Architecture and Construction Minister Alexander Seliazniow is today quoted by the official news agency Belta. The price index is planned to grow up to 12.5-1 percent, he said.

The initial price growth target was 9.7 percent. However, higher energy prices have forced the government to adjust their plans. "Some construction companies have zero profitability," the minister noted.
