Mikalai Statkevich trial scheduled for May 4

On May 4, Shklov penal colony #17 will pass judgment on political prisoners Mikalai Statkevich. He may get transfered to prison, the human rights center Viasna reports with reference to his wife Maryna Adamovich.

It is reported that the reason for the trial allegedly became numerous violations of internal regulations of the colony and Mikalai disobeying the requirements of the administration.

More recently, in a letter to his wife, the former presidential candidate said that he was placed in cell-type premises. In sum Statkevich scored 13 penalties, 10 of which - for refusing to work.

For participation in the Square 2010 Statkevich was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He pleaded not guilty and refused to file a petition for clemency to Lukashenka. Ex-presidential candidate is the last prisoner of the Square-2010, who is still behind bars.
