The politician was returned guilty of violating the rules of organization of mass actions. According to BelaPAN, Statkevich refused to give any evidence because the hearing was conducted in Russian. Only two witnesses were interrogated during the process – both of them were policemen.

Let us remind you that Statkevich was detained during the May Day meeting organized by the Belarusian federation of Trade Unions near the National library. More than two dozen people were detained together with him. The reason for the detention was the fact that they had brought flags of the European Union with them.

The majority of the detained were let off without drawing up protocols.
