Mihail Zaharau appointed manager of Belarus national hockey team

A famous hockey specialist Mihail Zaharau has been appointed manager of Belarus national hockey team. The decision has been taken at a meeting of the executive committee of the Belarusian Hockey Federation today, on November 25, informs “Interfax”.
Let us remind you that the Minister of Sport and Tourism appointed Zaharau manager of the national Olympic ice hockey team on November 17. He will head the team during its preparation for the 21st Olympic Games.

Zaharau is also the manager of Ukraine national hockey team. Furthermore, he heads HC “Yunatstva-Minsk” playing in the Belarusian hockey open championship.

Mihail Zaharau has already been the manager of Belarus national hockey team once but resigned in February 2005 after his team had not managed to win the qualification tournament of Turin Olympics in 2006.

The position of the manager of Belarus national team turned out to be vacant after the resignation of Canadian Glen Hanlon on November 2.
