Mayor of Riga to visit business forum in Minsk

Mayor of Riga Nils Ušakovs will attend the Belarus-Latvia business forum in Minsk today, on April 8. The Mayor of the Latvian capital will head a representative delegation consisting of Latvian MPs, MEPs and representatives of self-administration bodies of major Latvian cities. Such a delegation from a neighboring state will visit Belarus for the first time, Minsk City Executive Committee press service reports.

Latvia is one of Belarus’ foreign trade EU partners. The Belarusian export to this state increased by 17.4% last year.

Nils Ušakovs will take part in the business forum in the business centre Victoria and meet Latvian Ambassador to Belarus Mikhail Popkovski and the administration of Minsk City Executive Committee. The authorities of the two cities are planning to sign a cooperation programme for 2015-2017.
