Mass prayer near St Joseph's Cathedral in Minsk

Over 100 people, mostly youngsters and also those from the unregistered youth groups gathered on Saturday night near the St. Joseph's Cathedral in Minsk.
They were seen holding candles, Christian symbols and praying for the church to be preserved and given back to the Catholics.

The participants also prayed for the political prisoners and all of those repressed in Belarus. The action took place in the framework of the Solidarity Day, which is staged by pro-democracy forces on the 16th day of every month.

Police were standing by but would not interfere.

Towards the end of the action, the youth put their candles to make a cross in front of the building and walked away.

Nobody was detained during the action, according to Belapan.
