Makei: Too early to give up Union State
Belarus and Russia understand that it is necessary to look for solutions to problems, Belarusian Minister For Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makei said.
He has recently had a simple and straightforward conversation with his Russian counterpart Syarhei Laurou, Makei said. “The Union State doe not exist anymore, some people say. I think it is too early to give up,” BELTA quotes the Belarusian diplomat.
A lot of agreements were reached at the meeting with Lavrov, Makei added. The state leaders are setting a number of conceptual goals and diplomats are discussing certain measures, he noted. In particular, the discussed border issues, interaction on the international arena and the situation is hot spots in the region and worldwide.
