Lyaukovich censured
The Presidium of the United Pro-democratic
Forces (UPF) has prohibited Co-chairman Anatol Lyaukovich from making
statements on behalf of the opposition coalition, Anatol Lyabedzka, leader of
the United Civic Party (UCP), told ERB.
"The Presidium has been outraged
by the content of his interview. Before his party [the Belarusian Social
Democratic Hramada] decides on its position, we have suspended his opportunity
to speak on behalf of the UPF as a co-chairman," Lyabedzka said.
Lyaukovich blasted the opposition
and urged the authorities to cooperate with his party in a recent interview
with the state-controlled newspaper Sovetskaya Belorussiya.
