Lukashenka to Ukraine with official visit on July 20-21

On July 20-21, Belarus President Aliaksandr Lukashenka will pay an official visit to Ukraine, reports his press office. This will be the fifth official visit over the past three years.

The program of the visit envisages talks with Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko in the vis-a-vis and expanded formats. The heads of state will discuss political, trade and economic and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine. 

The presidents will focus on the current situation and prospects for economic ties. They are also expected to coordinate their approaches as regards the further development of trans-border cooperation.

Lukashenka and Poroshenko will also touch upon the efforts to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Belarus hosts the negotiating platform for the sides involved in the Minsk Process.

The talks are planned to end with the signing of several documents on cooperation in economy, science and technologies as well as in the field of culture and interethnic relations.
