Lukashenka thanks Georgians for supporting Belarus in West

Alyaksandr Lukashenka is negotiating with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili this Thursday, on April 23. The Belarusian leader has thanked the President and his predecessor Mikheil Saakashvili for supporting our country in the West.

"We should have met here in this legendary city and country long ago. It’s a shame that I have never been to Tbilisi before,” BELTA quotes Lukashenka. Belarus and Georgia are able to create a steady basis for future relations based on strong trade and economic cooperating, he noted.

Thanks to ‘the good past’, Belarus and Georgia can build ‘a better future’, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili said.

Lukashenka will also meet Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili and Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II today. Bilateral documents will be signed during Lukashenka’s visit.
