Lukashenka slams Russia over unfair competition

President Lukashenka blamed Russia for unfair competition and failure to fulfill its obligations in the Eurasian Economic Union, reports the state news agency BELTA.

Lukashenka stated that he wanted to save Gomselmash and immediately poured criticism on the eastern neighbors. "We are going through a difficult period as Russians are acting in a barbarian way towards us. I am going public about it. They make demands as if we are their vassals. However, they do not want to honor their commitments within the Eurasian Economic Union where they invited us. They create unfair competition," Lukashenka said.

The Belarus leader noted that Russia likes to blame Americans and the West for creating a 'non-competitive advantage', yet they are treating Belarus in the same way. 

Lukashenka told the state-run company's employees that they needed to hold for two or three years. "We will feel tremendous pressure on the part of competitors from the West like Claas Lexion and other machines and unfortunately from the East by our big brother who is competing unfairly. They support their Rostselmash in every way possible; they subsidize it violating our arrangements in the Eurasian Economic Union," he said and stressed that he would raise this issue at the level of the governments and even at the level of the presidents.
