Lukashenka ready to sell MTS for $900 million

The President mentioned it during a meeting with heads of CIS mass media in Minsk. He mentioned a decision to organize an open action of the state shares in MTS to study the offers potential investors can make.

"Even if they offered me $500 million, I would wait for an increase. However, if they offered me $900 million instead of the $1 billion I asked at the beginning… I’d sell it now,” Lukashenka said.

He stressed that the cost of the state shares in the Belarusian cellular carrier can be discussed with potential investors, Interfax reports.

"You say it is expensive and I say – it is cheap. It is a matter of agreement or other civilized rules of decision-making,” Lukashenka noted.
