Lukashenka to Putin: Belarus will not orient on West only (video)

The summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS started in Ufa on July 8. Belarus is not a member of the organizations but Alyaksandr Lukashenka came to the Russian city. He met Vladimir Purina and they discussed the bilateral cooperation of Belarus and Russia, interaction in the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union. The Belarusian President joked about our country’s geopolitical orientation and the Russian President replied with a joke too.

Lukashenka: “Sergei Victorovich [Lavrov, Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs] will not be able to reproach us for being oriented on the West only now. Of course, this is a joke. We will defend our interests in organizations. Thank you.” Putin: “Not only on the west of the Russian Federation but on the other regions too.” Lukashenka added: “Certainly. We will focus on the east of the Urals.”
