Lukashenka opens ice palace in Pruzhany

Alyaksandr Lukashenka took part in the opening ceremony of an ice palace in Pruzhany. Pruzhany has become the 12th ice arena in the country – so it is possible to organize hockey matches there. Thus, you can’t count all Belarusian ice palaces on your fingers anymore, notes “Pressball”.
The construction of the ice palace in Pruzhany started in November 2005, reports BelTA. The palace is composed of the hockey pitch, stands for 800 people, choreography hall, tennis-court, volleyball, basketball and handball grounds.

A hockey and figure skating school #2 of the department of education of Pruzhany District Executive Committee has been created on the basis of the palace. 450 people can study there. The school will render such services as mass skating, fitness, choreography and health education. The courses will have to be paid for. The school should become self-supporting till 2009.
