Lukashenka brings present to Metropolitan Philaret (video)
The Belarusian President and former head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church met on Tuesday.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka and and former head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Philaret met on May 19. Current head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Pavel arrived together with the President. Lukashenka presented a china tea set to Metropolitan Philaret, ONT reports.
No information about Lukashenka’s conversation with Philaret and Pavel has been reported. It is only known that they discussed the cooperation of the Belarusian Orthodox Church with the state, ONT reports.
Metropolitan Philaret resigned due to health problems at the end of 2013. He was replaced by Metropolitan of Ryazan Pavel.
