Lukashenka: Belarus to work for Russia wherever needed

Belarus and Russia are conducting a coordinated policy on issues that are of Russia’s interests, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said.

"Remember: no matter what I am doing now  – talking to Ukraine, the West and East and so on, I never make a single step without consulting the administration of the Russian Federation when it comes to Russia,” Interfax-West quotes the Belarusian state leader.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that reports about his attempts to turn Russian problems to his own advantage were just an invention. “If Russia needs us to work in Ukraine, we will do it, if Russia needs us to go to the other end of the world to be useful, we will do it,” he claimed.

The western sanctions are not that bad and Belarus has been affected by them for two decades, Lukashenka told the Russian governor. He even said that the sanctions were useful. They can promote ‘internal consolidation’, Lukashenka noted.
