Lukashenka: Belarus to build world’s safest nuclear power plant

Belarus will get the newest and safest NPP in the world, Alyaksandr Lukashenka claimed during his visit to Astravets District on October 9. He visited the construction site, met with Rosatom CEO Sergey Kiriyenko (in the photo below). The NPP is being built ‘at top level’, he stressed during the meeting with Kiriyenko. He also added that specialists from the whole world have concluded that ‘NPPs have never been built so well before’, BELTA reports.

A Belarus-owned NPP will create a different image of the nation, Lukashenka told the NPP staff. If the nation wants to develop, it is necessary to go ahead and master new projects, he thinks.
