'Live shield' officers resume service duties

Two traffic police officers from Minsk's October District Police Department, who were under investigation in the notorious case associated with using a live shield of civilian vehicles to stop a speeding driver the Minsk-Makashevichy highway, today has resumed their duties, Belarus's Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau told reporters. The officers were cleared of any wrongdoing during the investigation.

The minister also noted that all the chiefs of traffic police units, whose officers were associated with the 'live shield' case were subjected to disciplinary punishment, reports Interfax news agency.
