Leftist forces to appeal registration rejection in Supreme Court

The Union of Leftist Parties on Friday filed an appeal with the Supreme Court of Belarus against the ruling of the Ministry of Justice which denied registration to this organization, Belapan quotes Alena Skryhan, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Party of Communists as saying.

On August 9, the Ministry of Justice of Belarus issued the second ruling to deny registration to the Union of Leftist Forces, saying the application documents had been filled in the wrong way. The Union held its second founding congress on July 13 in Minsk.

The founding congress was attended by delegates from the Belarusian Party of Communists, the Belarusian Women's Party "Nadzeya", the Belarusian Social Democratic Party "Hramada" and the liquidated Belarusian Party of Labor.
