Krystsіna Shatsіkava fined for 651 thousand BRB (photo)
The hearing of the case of Krystsіna Shatsіkava has ended in Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk today. She was fined for 651 thousand BRB for participation in an unapproved picket and resistance to the police. The judge Valyantsina Kismyaroshkina looked through the video filmed by the police during the dispersal of the crowd near the building of the court where the hearing of the case of a human rights defender Valyantsin Shchukin was in process. Out reporter Yadviha Stasheuskaya comes up with more details:
“The video showed a moment where policemen were rudely pushing Krystsina and her minor son into their minibus. Nevertheless, the judge decided that the civil rights of Ms. Shatsikava had not been violated and that it was her who was the infringer in that situation”.
