The Minsk Economic Court on August 1 opened a hearing of the lawsuit filed by Argument legal group against the opposition United Civil Party. The Argument said it was sueing the party because of the article titled "Family Makes Business under Reliable Government's Cover" and published on the party's web site www.ucpb.org . In the view of the plaintiff, the article damaged the business reputation of Argument and its founder Andrej Kozik, the son of Leanid Kozik, the chairman of the Trade Union Federation.

The United Civil Party said in a statement that it did not own this web site. This is not our party's web site, it added. The judge adjourned the hearing for August 16. The defendant is expected to provide information who registers domain addresses in Belarus, reports nn.by.
