KGB members leave Ales Mihalevich’s lawyer empty-handed
The search of the workplace of lawyer Ales Aheyeu in Lenin District legal advice office has not resulted in any confiscations.
KGB members refused to answer lawyers’ questions about the legal basis of the search. Furthermore, they did not have a search warrant; they only had a document signed by the head of Minsk and Minsk Province KGB Department.
The KGB members left empty-handed. However, Aheyeu defining the arrested former presidential candidate Ales Mihalevich has been feeling this attention to his activities since the beginning of January. The Ministry of Justice has checked his advocacy several times, informs a human rights centre “Vyasna”.
Human rights defender Valyantsin Stefanovich thinks that this is another example of the brutal pressure being exercised on the lawyers representing the interests of participants of the case of “mass disorders”.
