If the public wishes to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic, the authorities will join in, President’s Administration Head Natallya Kachanava told Nasha Niva. However, the celebration should not be organized as a rally, she stressed.

"There are such ideas and we are joining in, too. Yet, it would be uncivilized to urge people to go to some street rallies; this is a wrong way to do it. If society needs this celebration, we are ready to participate and organize it together. It is up to the people who need it to decide,” the newspaper quotes the top-ranking official sa saying.

The Belarusian State Broadcasting Company is also getting ready for the BNR’s 100th anniversary. The state TV and radio are planning ‘to make a detailed and impartial research in the history of the first yet short-lived Belarusian independent state’, state TV chief Henadz Davydzka told reporters earlier.
