Justice ministry denies registration to Nasha Viasna civil group

The Ministry of Justice of Belarus has denied registration to human rights group Nasha Viasna.  Officials said the participants of the founding congress could not fit in the venues of the United Civic Party offices. Administrative protocols for party leaders were to justify the denial.

Valiantsin Stsefanovich, one of Nasha Viasna co-founders, told Belapan that those claims from the Justice Ministry had repeated during the previous attempts of the organization to register. He said he would appeal the decision in the Supreme Cout or even at the UN Human Rights Commission, if needed.
