Judge denies explanation to Vasil Khadzkou over his eviction

Yury Shastakou, a judge of Minsk's Maskouski District Court, has denied an explanation to Vasil Khadzkou over his eviction fron his house because of the metro construction. The open court hearing finished yesterday in the evening.
The Maskouski District Court ruled on October 19, 2007 to evict Khadzkou from his private house which included two apartments on Dziarzhynski Avenue and to accommodate his in a two-bedroom apartment on Rafieu Street together with his former wife and the son.

The judge also rejected Khadzkou's appeal for a one-bedroom apartment. Afterwards, he made numerous appeals to court and a prosecutor's office, including four times at the Supreme Court.

Nevertheless, on February 17, Khadzkou who refused to leave his house was taken to a police station. Afterwards, the house was demolished and burnt during a fire.
