IT businessman Viktor Prokopenya pays record $3.5mn as income tax for 2017

The highest recorded income for a physical person in Minsk for 2017 amounted to 58.9 million Belarus rubles (BYN) (roughly $30 million), Deputy Head of Minsk City Tax Authority told BELTA news agency. The income tax paid on this sum was 7 million BYN (roughly $3.5 million).

Tut.by points out that the record-breaking income tax was paid by prominent IT-entrepreneur, VP Capital CEO Viktor Prokopenya. He has been the top tax-payer among physical persons for at least five years out of the last ten. 

.Nearly 11700 Minskers filed their tax declarations for 2017. After reconciliation, 7800 people paid a total of 36.4 million BYN as the income tax. 330 persons were refunded 993 000 BYN.
