International Day of Disabled Persons marked on December 3
This day was etablished by the UN General Assembly in 1992. It is aimed for turning the public's attention to the problems which people with disabilities face, for protection of their dignity, rights and well-being. The society also pays attention to the benefits which it gets from people with disabilities in political, social, economic and cultural life. More than half a million people with disabilitiies live in Belarus today, 29 thousand of them are children.
