The Independent: Belarus aroused panic among investors

The appeal of Belarus to the International Monetary Fund in order to get a credit of 2 billion dollars to support the country’s financial system has aroused panic among investors. A British newspaper The Independent informs about it.
Belarus has got on the same list as Iceland, Pakistan, Hungary and Ukraine, writes the edition’s reporter Sean Farel. Negotiations between the Belarusian government and IMF representatives will start on Monday.

Moreover, The Independent does not exclude that Belarus will ask central banks and private companies for help. The decreasing demand for the main export goods of Belarus - potash fertilizers and oil products – may result in it.
