Activist jailed for 10 days in Minsk
Illya Dabratvor, an activist with Alternativa civic action group, was tried on charges of disobedience to the police and public swearing.
Minsk's Zavodzki District Court judge Alena Asipchyk sentenced the activist to 7 days in jail. However, all the sentences combined resulted in a 10-day arrest, Radio Liberty reports.
Dabratvor believes he has been jailed deliberately right before the traditional opposition-staged Chernobyl March rally.
He was detained in the evening of April 22 when transporting white-red-white symbols in his car. The symbols had been prepared for a street action as part of For Independent Belarus! campaign.
