I vote for myself: Karatkevich at polling station

“Я галасую за сябе”: Таццяна Караткевіч наведала выбарчы ўчастак

Presidential candidate Tatstsyana Karatkevich has voted at the polling station not far from home. She arrived there with her husband but put the ballot paper in the ballot box alone. She showed the ballot paper to journalists: “It is the first time I have voted for myself,” she said. She also explained why she was not calling her adherents to come to a protest action:

“We have the right for a peaceful protest. But the authorities’ reaction may be inadequate. I do not want the people who vote for peaceful changes to be provoked by other political forces,” Karatkevich announced.

The candidate is going to go to a sports match with her son after the voting. Then she will spend some time in town, go to an exhibition and visit her election team. Karatkevich is hoping for the second round of voting.

Commenting on the great number of people who voted early, Karatkevich noted that it was ‘the fear of the system that is doing everything to correct the election results’.
